George Sherlock has been making traditional bespoke handmade furniture for over 30 years.
All our furniture is made in our own workshop.
George Sherlock is known world wide for their traditional sofas. Our traditional sofas are available in a number of styles and designs all handmade to ensure quality and strong build.
All frames are made of beech wood, with the legs being an integral part of the frame. The frames are constructed with three forms of fixings these being doweled, screwed and glued.
The internal fillings of our traditional bespoke handmade furniture consist of fibre, felt, canvas, webbing, hair lock and coil springs. With all the coil springs being hand-sown onto the webbing and canvas.
The back cushions are filled with a feather & fibre mix, and the seat cushions are filled with 100% duck feather as standard. We can offer a different filling for the seat cushions if required such as a feather and down mix.
Every item of our traditional bespoke handmade furniture is made to order, either in our standard sizes, or if possible made to a custom size. Covered either in one of our range of hand dyed calico or a material of your choice, which is supplied by you, or we would be happy to obtain for you as we hold accounts with many of the leading fabric companies.
